Description
The least we can say about the “Jouvencelle” is that it bears its name well! This Saumur Blanc (white Loire wine) is full of freshness and liveliness perfectly expresses the characteristics of the Chenin de Loire on its favourite terroir.
Fruity and elegant, it will accompany you from the aperitif to the meal.

Vine management and harvesting
Vinification and maturing
The grapes are pressed slowly and at low pressure, in a pneumatic press, in order to obtain a juice of good quality. After being cold settled, the juice is put into tuns and a few barrels for alcoholic fermentation. The absence of malolactic fermentation keeps the freshness of the chenin intact.
La Jouvencelle is stirred only if necessary to nourish the juice with its fine lees.
The ageing is short (6 to 9 months depending on the vintage) to give the wine a little body and balance while keeping a nice acidity and all its fruitiness.
Storage
Splendid in its youth, it will keep its freshness for nearly 10 years in a good cellar, depending on the vintage.

Sensory discovery
Appearance
La Jouvencelle has delicate green and gold shades.
Bouquet
It is always fruity, evokes, depending on the vintage, citrus fruits, white flowers, fresh white fruits (quince, pear, peach...) or tropical fruits, the ageing process can bring discreet toasted or vanilla notes.
Palate
The palate is elegant, fresh, and invigorating. The gracefulness of the Jouvencelle is expressed in a fruity register of citrus and tropical fruits.
Wine and food pairing advice from the winegrower
Perfect as an aperitif, La Jouvencelle is at ease in many circumstances. It goes wonderfully with grilled fish and fried prawns, a blanquette of veal, a Vietnamese soup, Thai prawns, a chicken tagine with olives or goat and blue cheeses.
Serve chilled, between 12 and 14°C.
