Saumur Rosé
Awards
Silver Medal at La Palme du Saumur Rosé 2025
Description
A subtle and aromatic rosé wine that sings the joy of life and good humour…
AOP
Saumur Rosé. Formerly “Cabernet de Saumur”, the appellation changed its name in 2016 in order to avoid any confusion with the AOP “Cabernet d’Anjou” which is a sweet and mild rosé.
Cépage
Location
On the hillside of Parnay, on the banks of the Loire.
Terroir
This cuvée draws its freshness from a soil of clayey sands on limestone mother rock (tufa) formed in the Cretaceous period.
Vine management and harvesting
The Domaine de Rocheville has been working in an eco-responsible way since its creation in 2004. Its philosophy of respect for nature was made official in 2011 by obtaining the Terra Vitis sustainable viticulture label and then its Organic Agriculture certification in 2019.
The estate’s plots are grassed in order to maintain a plant cover that reinforces the structure and richness of the soil. Weeding is mechanical, in accordance with the principles of Organic Agriculture.
Finally, we take care of biodiversity by planting roses at the head of the rows, by installing Blue Tit nesting boxes, by replanting hedges and shrubs at the edges of the plots…
We do all this to produce wines that are good for your palate, good for the planet and good for your health.
Our Saumur Rosé is harvested at optimal maturity with an average yield of 50 hl/ha.
Vinification and maturing
The bunches are first subjected to a short maceration with the skins for a few hours which will give the juice its superb colour.
Then the grapes are delicately pressed at low pressure in a pneumatic press. After which the juice obtained ferments at low temperature. The Troubadour is born…
It then must wait for about 5 months of maturing in stainless steel tanks before being bottled.
Storage
It is best drunk within the year but can be kept for 2 years.

Sensory discovery
Appearance
What strikes you at first, is its very characteristic coral or light salmon colour, heralding aperitifs, and barbecues!
Bouquet
It has very aromatic notes of yellow fruit (vine peach, apricot), citrus fruit (grapefruit), melon, rose or wild strawberry, depending on the vintage.
Palate
The Troubadour de Rocheville loves simplicity and the joy of live. On the palate, it is tender, dry and delicately aromatic, full of finesse and particularly refreshing.
