An idea for a visit to the vineyards of Saumur
If you are on holiday in Saumur and would like to take the opportunity to visit a Saumur Champigny cellar, or if you live in the Loire Valley and your good resolution for January is to discover new local producers, then this is the place to go.
Even if the cold of January makes you want to stay in bed, put your nose outside and come and enjoy a wine tasting by the fireplace in the small village of Parnay, a few kilometres from Saumur. You won’t regret it!
In January, we light the fireplace!
Domaine de Rocheville’s tasting room has a large fireplace. Every Saturday in January, the wine tourism team lights a fire of vine stocks to create a cosy and warm atmosphere. After a quick presentation of the estate and its wine-making philosophy, sit down on our sofas. Enjoy a commented tasting of our vintages while admiring the view of the Parnay valley. Even in winter and on foggy days, the scenery is superb!
You will be able to taste in the best conditions our Crémant de Loire extra-brut (saprkling white wine), one of our Saumur Blancs 100% chenin (white wine) or one of our 4 cuvées of Saumur Champigny (red wine), certified either organic or Terra Vitis. La Favorite, la Jouvencelle, la Dame, le Prince, Le Roi… are waiting for you for a special moment.
And if you don’t know anything about wine, don’t worry. Our team is here to answer all your questions about wine and explain how to enjoy it and advise you on food and wine pairing.
How do I book a tasting ?
The wine tastings by the fireplace take place on Saturday 8, 15, 22 and 29 January 2022 at 11am, 12pm, 2pm and 4pm. They are free of charge and take place in strict compliance with the barrier gestures.
