The spirit of travel comes to Domaine de Rocheville this summer.

From July 1 to August 30, 2026, the estate hosts “Drawing the World”, an exhibition by Marilyn MacGregor. Through some fifty drawings made across the globe, the artist invites visitors on an artistic journey, from Australia to Mexico, taking in Brittany, Croatia and New York.

Marilyn MacGregor, a travelling artist

Passionate about travel from an early age, Marilyn MacGregor was already sketching on excursions with her father. Her love of discovery — landscapes, cultures and faces — shines through in every illustration.

Between Philadelphia and Saumur, she captures her experiences through luminous drawings. This exhibition at Domaine de Rocheville will transport you for the duration of a visit.

Travel sketchbooks: a fluid and spontaneous technique

“Drawing the World” brings together a selection of drawings made throughout her travels. From French countryside to the streets of New York, through Italy, Spain, Australia and Mexico, each work reflects her curiosity for the lands and cultures she explores.

Every drawing was made on location, directly in her sketchbooks. From these original ink drawings, Marilyn MacGregor then develops various coloured versions: some works are digitally reworked for a graphic, luminous result; others are printed and hand-finished with watercolour or gouache. Each hand-coloured print thus becomes a unique piece.

“The drawings reflect my love of travel: there is always more to see and to learn.”

Though her style may seem naive at first glance, it reveals a true mastery of line — joyful and sunny work that instantly makes you want to pack your bags.

« Drawing the world » : an invitation to escape

Domaine de Rocheville is proud to host this series of international travel sketchbooks, so you can journey without leaving your seat. Urban landscapes, distant architecture, street scenes: each drawing is a window onto the world.

This invitation to travel finds its natural home in the estate’s panoramic room, where visitors can let memories and wanderlust surface as they discover iconic landscapes from around the globe.

Rocheville: organic wines and art in the heart of the Saumur wine region

For the duration of the exhibition, the room at Domaine de Rocheville takes on a new dimension, adorned with original drawings alongside its usual guided tours and wine tastings. Come and wander among Marilyn MacGregor’s works and take the opportunity to enjoy a glass from our range.

Overlooking the Loire Valley, at the heart of the Saumur vineyards, the estate has been producing four certified organic AOPs since 2004: a fine and elegant Crémant de Loire, ideal as an aperitif; Saumur Blanc from chenin blanc, with aromas of white fruits and citrus; a dry and subtle Saumur Rosé; and Saumur Champigny, red wines from cabernet franc, with red and dark fruit notes carried by the freshness of Parnay’s tuffeau stone.

Let your mind go on holiday: come and taste or visit the estate, and leave with your arms full of travel memories — or bottles.
